Grimoire

Grimoire, designed by Hayato Kisaragi, is a game for between 2 and 4 players and lasts between 30 and 60 minutes. Players represent adventurers searching for companions and treasures. Through clever use of their Grimoire, a book of spells and enchantments, players will have the chance to claim Quest cards, which are a mixture of items and companions.

Each turn spells are picked in secret by placing a bookmark in your Grimoire marking the one you will cast. The higher level the spell, the more powerful the effect, the lower the level of the spell, the weaker its effect. Of course players want to play high powered spells, but the player who casts the lowest level of spell will also get to pick their quest cards first. Careful choices of what level of spell to play, the desired effect, and the implications of turn order are all important factors a player needs to sum up when deciding which spell to select in their Grimoire

Gaining Quest cards is the goal; Quest cards can be items - which provide victory points, or they may be companions, who will also provide victory points - but may also provide some special bonus or in-game effect that will influence extra victory points you gain or allow you to break the usual rules in some particular way.

Players that best utilize their Grimoire, to cast the spells they need for both effect and turn order, who manage to gain the best items and bonuses from companions will win the day
